Fear of God ESSENTIALS x Converse Skid Grip Arrives August 27th
Jerry Lorenzo’s Fear of God ESSENTIALS linage will once again be linking up with footwear legends Converse for an all-new take on a Converse classic — one that rides very closely to Fear of God’s 101 silhouette. The partners have delivered an audacious Fear of God x Converse Skid Grid — a silhouette that has undoubtedly influenced Jerry’s mainline footwear — but it arrives in an uncharacteristic late-80’s-inspired print.
First looks at the colorful concoction show construction in canvas printed with geometrics and eroded patterns in teal, red, green, white, and black. The high-top, tongue, and lacestays arrive akin to the famed Chuck Taylor, whilst it’s toe/vamp overlay and sole unit are perceived to be derived from Lorenzo’s aforementioned FOG 101. Traditional flat laces are swapped out for thick rope, and the pair is complete with co-branded heel badges, this time in a tonal white format.
Update 08.202.20 // Retailers END has confirmed a release for the 80s-inspired Fear of God x Converse Skid Grid for August 27th, and have also supplied some detailed imagery for the pair. We’re expecting to see a slew of new retailers add this to their calendars, so stay tuned into our official Twitter account for further updates.
