There was no bigger surprise success in 2020 than Joefreshgoods and his “No Emotions are Emotions” New Balance 992. The mystical sneaker returned at the start of the year to great success, and Joe helped it get there. The All-Star Weekend collaboration wasn’t even a fully-fledged effort; New Balance gave him a handful of extra options, though it was essentially designed on the NB1 customization platform. Despite this, the response was overwhelming, and it spearheaded a year-long resurgence for the Boston-based brand. After his success, the Chigaoan has earned himself another collab — this time with a lot more creative freedom — with Converseon the Chuck 70.
Joefreshgoods built his name on the back of T-Shirts; they changed his life. This humble yet pivotal piece of clothing is what the collaboration is based upon, with the pair patchworked from various of his designs from over the years. It’s heavy on tie-dyes and graphics and even comes complete with a JFG garment tag attached below the medial Chuck Taylor motif. It will undoubtedly arrive alongside some of these tees as part of a wider capsule these holidays — though an exact release date for the collaboration is yet to be specified. Until then, enjoy a preview from the man himself here below, and be sure to keep your eyes glued to our official Twitter account for further updates.
Update 12.08.20 In addition to the teased Chuck 70, Joefreshgoods will also be releasing a shimmering 70s-inspired Pro Leather (facetiously arriving in suede), complete with patent leather overlays and removable Velcro patches. It forms part of a wider 70s Soul-inspired pack which includes hoodies, tees, sweatpants, and a PVC duffle.
