Update 02.04.20 Joe Freshgoods and New Balance have officially unveiled the Don’t Be Mad x New Balance “No Emotions Are Emotions” collection, which includes the previously-previewed 992, a brand-new New Balance OMN1S, and an accompanying range of apparel. Take a peep at all of that + the OG post below, and look for these to drop at a special pop-up over the All-Star Weekend in Chicago, Feb 14th-16th.

OG Post 01.22.20 // Coming fresh of a sneaker free agency period, Chicago’s Joe Freshgoods is about to embark on his next project since the self-imposed embargo — and he’s doing it on the fabled New Balance 992silhouette.

Earlier this month, Joe announced his signing with the Boston-Based brand by-way-of a cheeky rock-encrusted custom “NB” ring on his Instagram, and it hasn’t taken long for the Don’t Be Mad frontman to flex the fruits of his labor. First looks at the DBM x New Balance 992 “Anatomy of a Heart” have arrived ahead of its fittingly-placed release on Valentine’s Day — although Joe claims that the alignment wasn’t intended during conceptualization. The rarely-seen silhouette features a very meaty DQM-style aesthetic, but that’s exactly what you should expect when you’re dissecting a human heart. Blood reds (both oxygenated and not) and iron-rich fleshy tans, pinks and beiges all drape the upper in layers of suede, leather, and mesh, while striking pops of white can represent nothing other than tough tendon sinews. All of this comes together on a monochrome sole unit, and what appears to be three different sets of laces.

Take in a detailed look at the Don’t Be Mad x New Balance 992 and OMN1S below, alongside an accompanying set of apparel, all of which will be releasing exclusively at a pop-up shop in Joe’s hometown of Chicago for All-Star Weekend on February 14th – 16th.
