In the fashion world, denim is a fabric that can be celebrated and questioned, especially when we recall some of Michael Jordan's bold denim choices from yesteryear. But when it comes to sneakers, there's no denying that denim can be tastefully incorporated into designs, as evidenced by the latest Air Jordan 1 Low.
This premium Air Jordan 1 Low takes inspiration from the beloved denim jeans we all know and love. The shoe features a combination of premium white leather for its base, creating a clean and textured appearance. Blue-grey suede overlays and tumbled leather collars add a touch of contrast and depth to the design, reminiscent of the iconic denim fabric's shades. However, the patchwork-style Denim Swoosh with its tack stitching truly steals the show, instantly bringing to mind the classic look of a well-worn pair of 501 jeans; so too, the rear heel in a smooth tan leather that is reminiscent of a pair's back patch.
The shoe incorporates contrast-stitched, sail-tinted midsoles and semi-translucent gum rubber outsoles to enhance the vintage, worn-in aesthetic. These elements add character to the design and pay homage to the timeless appeal of denim.
Pairs are scheduled to release on February 16th on Nike.com.
