Jordan Brand continues its 40th anniversary celebration with more commemorative pairs rooted not only in His Airness' winning legacy, but also basketball's expanding presence acrossthe globe. An Air Jordan 1 Low retro set to release throughout summer will honor Beijing's Dongdan neighborhood, the site of a legendary streetball court.

A recent photo shared to social media by X user @fuelkicks presents an initial look at the celebratory style. Akin to the Air Jordan 13 Low "Dogdan" also expected by September, the newly-surfaced retro features an understated "Oatmeal/Coconut Milk" color scheme. The darkest shades are found via suede construction at the suede toe box and tongue, with profile swooshes and lower heel panels also deviating from their "colorless" surroundings. Interestingly enough, Nike's sub-label decided not to use the same OG-build for its next Asia-inspired offering found on the latest Quai 54 AJ1 Low, which celebrates the world's largest streetball tournament (held in Paris).

Regardless, the muted retro features a nod to the destination in China on the left shoe's tongue. Dongdan text further cements the Asian country's importance in not only Jordan Brand's story, but also the global game.

Stay tuned for official product photos and firm Nike.com release details. Detailed shots of the retro have been added below—courtesy Instagram user @sharkicks1.
