Throughout its history, Jordan Brand has honored the Jumpman's legacy through a number of story-driven, faithful reissues of product worn during his NBA career. Always looking to inject Michael Jordan's winning legacy into a wide-array of items for everyday life, the eponymous imprint has also explored different territories, showcasing MJ's transcendental nature.
In May 2016, the Nike, Inc. subsidiary launched a trio of Air Jordan 1 Low OG retros done in tonal makeovers. Fitting of the Nike Sportswear distinction, the project removed profile swooshes from Peter Moore's original Air Jordan design, creating a model that could be worn smarter. The capsule included a style clad in spring-friendly "Arctic Orange," which seems to be on Jordan Brand's schedule for the impending season.
Official product shots showcase an identical pair from 2016. The sneaker's Stock Keeping Unit (SKU) is also the same from its original release, suggesting the company has simply re-run its manufacturing line for the 10-year-old retro. With ongoing footwear trends favoring subtle, thin-soled models, it's possible the swoosh-less "Arctic Orange" AJ1 will appeal to some consumers looking for something a bit more inconspicuous.
Enjoy a closer-look at the latest Jordan 1 Low OG retro ahead. Pairs should land via Nike.com/Jordan by May.
