There are few annual occasions in which Jordan Brand flexes special-edition sneakers, from the yearly rollout of college PEs to sports-specific exclusives for their professional athletes. The other is the annual Jordan Brand Classic Player Exclusive, which htis year has revealed itself to be a shimmering Air Jordan 1 Low OG.
Now in its 21st year, the Chicago-held tournament celebrates the next generation of basketball stars, featuring the best and brightest high school talent in the country. Canceled for the previous two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the event made a triumphant return on Friday, April 15 at Chicago’s Hope Academy.
This year’s athlete PE features a premium nubuck toe, nylon tongue, and leather Swoosh all in black before a shimmering, reflective galaxy-like upper steals the show.
Like years past, pairs will not be released to the public, but it won’t stop a handful of sizes from popping up on the aftermarket in the coming months.
