In the early part of the 20s, Jordan Brand introduced a unique project that involved creating exclusive Air Jordan 1 High sneakers covered in exotic safari and croc skin for their affiliated colleges. Three years later, the brand is rapidly rolling out similarly designed Low editions for their sponsored schools, from Howard to UCLA to UNC. Joining the fray is the brand’s latest addition, as Marquette has just revealed their ultra-limited pair on social media.
Revealed today by English Sole, the sneakers differ from those recently seen from other colleges, as they ditch an undyed suede upper in favor of off-white leather. Still, cracked leather overlays remain, with those joining safari-inspired Swooshes in Marquette’s signature blue and gold hues. Premium quilted satin liners and insoles boasting the MU logo graphic add to the pair’s finer finishes, while forefoot mini swooshes and a simple sail sole unit with a light gum rubber outsole complete the look.
Check out the imagery below for a detailed look at the pair, and expect other Jordan Brand-sponsored college programs to reveal their exclusives soon.
