Often experimental in its approach to new colorways and materials, the Air Jordan 1 Lowlinage has been a focal point for Jordan Brand’s in-house design team to flex their creative muscle. When it comes to kids releases, it’s even more evident, with the freedom to explore fun and exciting themes that likely take themselves back to their own fond childhood memories. One of those cherished experiences has now found its way to this Air Jordan 1 Low “Take Flight”, which pulls in a retro 3D glasses theme from a bygone era.
It’s not the first time this theme has been brought to kids’ footwear, with a more direct influence brought to the Air Force 1 Low back in August of 2019. Though that pair pulled in glasses graphics on the insoles, this pair on Js draws an association from the dual, overlapping Jumpmen at the tongue, and cross-over Swooshes of red and blue translucent — a finish found in the lens of the aforementioned movie specs. The upper’s all-over “Take Flight” print channels this finish, too, though much more legible than the mind-boggling tongue graphic. Simple black liners, and branding in the rear serve as an introduction to more elementary finishes of white leather uppers and nylon tongues, while mismatched outsoles — again in blue and red — arrive to complete the design.
A release date for the Gradeschool Air Jordan 1 Low SE “Take Flight” is yet to be determined, but expect these to land at select retailers like BSTNand on Nike.com in the coming weeks. Until then, enjoy a detailed look at the pair here below, and make sure you’ve got your eyes glued to our official Twitter account for further updates.
