For the better part of a decade, Jordan Brand has been a vocal advocate for inclusivity, equality, and unity, with the brand launching several programs and commitments that aim to level the playing field for women and people of color. From Black History Month releases to their “Wings” scholarships, the brand has been steadfast in its efforts. And although this new Air Jordan 1 Low “Unity” isn’t overly specific to its cause, it does serve as an exemplar for all that the brand aims to achieve for it’s targeted communities.
Arriving in a traditionally feminine palette of mauve and lavender, the pair looks to premium tooling. Here, it’s corduroy tongues and collars, buttery sail leather mid panels, and premium shaggy suede; but that’s just the half of it. The pair reinforces the overarching unity message through special toebox insignia that reads “Because One Day, This Day Will Be Our Everyday” along with etchings of “Unity” and “Equality” amongst a sea of whimsical doodles. Flip it around to the heel, and you’ll find olive branch insignia, too.
While an official release date for this new Air Jordan 1 Low “Unity” has yet to be revealed, one would expect that these would likely be scheduled soon.
