Air Jordan 1 Mid “Black Grape” Arrives September 13
Quite often you’ll find that Jordan Brand looks back into their own archive to find inspiration for their Air Jordan 1 Mids and Lows. Though mostly these are linked back to the Air Jordan 1 itself, on occasion the brand looks outside the ’85 spectrum with releases featuring elephant print, cement speckle, and more. Now it ostensibly looks to the Air Jordan 5, by employing a fan-favorite scheme atop this Air Jordan 1 Mid “Black Grape”
An alternate version to the OG, 2013’s “Black Grape” Air Jordan 5is one of those sneakers that could have easily been considered as an OG release back in 1990. Here, the pair takes that scheme, paints it atop an all-leather contrast, and distorts the proportion of black, grape, and emerald to something a little more balanced. Here, equal measures of black, green, and grape work in harmony, with mid panels and tongues of black joined by overlays and collars of purple, and rears, Swooshes, and toes taking on a bright teal finish. Laces, liners, and tongue branding all boast a purple hue, with outsoles of white and teal completing the design.
