Mike Adds Padded Tongues to this Skater-Friendly Air Jordan 1 Mid

Though known for their continued celebration of both Michael Jordan’s career and the wider game of basketball, Jordan Brand is showing a different side in 2023, with the basketball-origin brand lending itself to the skateboarding scene on quite a few occasions. From the extremely hyped Nike SB x Air Jordan 4, to the recently-revealed “Just Skate” Air Jordan 1 Low, the brand has been busy ‘boarding. Now, they’ve added fat tongues to the Air Jordan 1 Mid in true early-century skate style.

This particular pair appears to be better suited for fakie rather than fadeaways, as it boasts additional padding in the tongue area. Enhanced cushioning is also evident around the collar, providing extra support and comfort around the ankle. Elsewhere, the design remains relatively unchanged, save for a more prominent emblem replacing the typical screen-printed Wings, and a construction predominately in nubuck. Color-wise, the pair proffers a classic “Bred” style, the shoes showcase double-layered, orange and red panels along the toe, Swoosh, and heel sections.
