When an alternate Air Jordan 1 Low Crater appeared in grey and uni blue late last year, you just knew there would be a second Air Jordan 1 Mid “Crater”, too, an alternate to this Mid that was released towards the end of last year.
Like that pair, this too arrives with monochrome makeup anchored in a recycled grey twill — one marled with subtle flecks of color throughout. Whilst it retains an almost identical material blocking, its use of brighter, lighter greys, a lesser focus on blacks, and a swap from Racer to University Blue results in a significantly different release. Here, you’ll find the same white Crater Foam/Grind Rubber sole unit underfoot — and Grind Rubber Checks, too. It’s faux suede sites at the toe, eye stays and collar in light grey, whilst the remaining panels are prepared in a chambray-like blue-grey weave. Tongues and laces remain black, whilst tack-on stitching moves from eh original’s Royal to a brighter University Blue, with the hue also hitting the tongue’s liners and branding to complete the design.
A release date for the Air Jordan 1 Mid Crater did not accompany the official image set below, but you should expect to see these land at select Swoosh stockists and likely on Nike.com soon.
