As the silhouettes is often an experimentation ground for the Jumpman’s design team, the Air Jordan 1 Mid is a master of mixed-material makeups. From ballistic mesh to patent leather, to dusty suede and metallic textures, there’s never really a limitation to what can and will be utilized. Though this next-up Air Jordan 1 Mid is fairly unassuming in both picks of material and color palette, it brings with it some interesting blocking of both hue and texture.
Heavily tumbled white leather uppers link into a rare use of mesh at the collar. Nylon tongues, liners, and midsoles follow in hue, preparing the shoe’s white base for overlays of sail leather and tan suede to pop. Leather returns in navy for the profile Swooshes, with its pigment poised again at the tongue, before resting atop a two-tone white and grey and white sole unit to complete the design.
