The Air Jordan 1 Mid "'85 Fall League" Celebrates 40 Years of Jordan Brand
Jordan Brand continues to harken back to its origins with different takes on His Airness' first signature sneaker. Ahead of autumn, the Air Jordan 1 Mid has surfaced in one of its most peculiar makeovers of the last year.
Clad in hits of a faint neon yellow, white, and black, the retro features split color-blocking between medial and lateral sides. The result is an aesthetic reminiscent of the "Homage" series of offerings from last decade. What's particularly curious about the impending Air Jordan, however, is that it arrives with two detachable chenille patches on the laces. The to attachments take on circular shapes, and seemingly draw inspiration from the patches famously associated with varsity jackets. One such patch is stylized after a basketball, while the other references an Air Jordan '85 Fall League. The date harkens back to the debut of Michael Jordan's original signature model by Nike, Inc.
Elsewhere, the tried-and-proven sole unit opts for a faux-aged midsole that falls in line with the pair's theme. The tongue abandons its typical construction in favor of a breathable mesh build.
Enjoy official photos of the pair below. The Jordan 1 Mid should hit Nike.com/Jordan by October.
