The Air Jordan 1 Mid "Redstone/Midnight Green" Ushers in Christmas Vibes Early

Jordan Brand's 40th anniversary has led to the development and launch of the referential Air Jordan 40, a pinnacle expression of performance basketball footwear, but it's also focused on the one that started it all.

Over the last seven months, the Air Jordan 1 has released in a plethora of styles across its various trims. Although most diehard sneaker enthusiasts have been on the hunt for pairs of the silhouette's '85 cut, the masses have had dozens of styles to choose from between High, Mid, and Low iterations. The middle option recently emerged in a "Redstone/Midnight Green/Sail/Pure Platinum" color scheme reminiscent of the colors commercially associated with Christmas.

At quick glance, official photos of the Jordan 1 Mid depict a muted take on the iconic "Chicago" color scheme, but closer inspection reveals a different color palette. Profile swooshes and collar underlays indulge in a deep green tone that evokes images of pine trees. Gaps at the forefoot and mid-foot keep things simple in off white, as does the midsole. The Nike Dunk-reminiscent outsole reverts to the aforementioned ruby hue, rounding out Michael Jordan's original silhouette with some Bulls-friendly flair.
