Air Jordan 3 "Red Flip" Releasing for Super Bowl LXI
The Air Jordan 3 “Flip” concept is reportedly making a return for 2027, this time in an all-new “Red Flip” colorway expected to release around Super Bowl LXI.
Originally introduced in 2007, the Air Jordan 3 “Flip” series inverted the silhouette’s iconic elephant print placement, turning the textured overlay into the dominant feature across the upper rather than limiting it to the toe and heel. Nearly two decades later, Jordan Brand is expected to revisit that idea with a bold red execution that keeps the same aggressive aesthetic intact.
Early mock-ups of the Air Jordan 3 “Red Flip” show the pair covered almost entirely in tonal red elephant print, paired with matching leather overlays, black midsoles, and subtle grey outsole detailing. Chrome eyelets and classic Jumpman branding complete the design, giving the sneaker a familiar yet refreshed feel. The pair is also expected to arrive with Nike Air-inspired detailing, continuing Jordan Brand’s recent push toward heritage-driven releases.
The timing makes sense, too. Jordan Brand has increasingly used Super Bowl weekend as a launch platform for some of its biggest retro releases, and the Air Jordan 3 “Red Flip” feels positioned to be one of the headline drops for 2027.
At the moment, the Air Jordan 3 “Red Flip” is expected to release on February 13, 2027, during Super Bowl LXI weekend. More details and first looks are expected to arrive closer to launch.
