All-Star Weekend is chock-full of sneaker heat — and we’re not just talking about on the court. With the weekend’s festival feels, the city alive with events, and celebrities sitting courtside you’re guaranteed to see some incredible sneaker specimens. But we’re tipping that not much will come close to this: an unreleased Air Jordan 3 “Space Hippie” worn by Fat Joe at last night’s NBA All-Star Skills Challenge.
Known for his prowess as the original sneaker king in the 90s and 00s, Joe stepped on the court in this never-before-seen sneaker that quickly garnered the attention of the sneaker world. Taking a page out of Nike’s sustainability book, this Air Jordan 3appears to have an outsole made of recycled rubber and plastic akin to Nike’s Space Hippie series. From there, oil slick iridescent Nike Air heel tabs, elephant print, and tongues — the latter showing Tinker Hatfield’s signature emerging from the finish. It’s met by a silver upper and black lace combo, and midsoles of black and white.
