Russell Westbrook’s Jordan Brand archive runs deep, and another rare pair has surfaced with a look at his “Mr. Triple Double” Air Jordan 3 PE from 2018.
Shared by English Sole, the pair is said to have been created during Westbrook’s Oklahoma City era, the player-exclusive celebrates his run as one of the league’s premier triple-double threats. The pair starts with a mostly white leather upper before bringing in the familiar OKC palette through blue and orange accents across the eyelets, midsole and branding.
The Air Jordan 3’s signature elephant print gets a personalized treatment as well, mixing blue and orange across the toe and heel overlays. Westbrook’s logo replaces the traditional tongue branding, while additional personal graphics appear along the midsole.
The biggest storytelling element is hidden inside. The insoles repeatedly feature 25.4, 10.1 and 10.3, representing Westbrook’s averages of 25.4 points, 10.1 rebounds and 10.3 assists during the 2017-18 season, when he averaged a triple-double for the second consecutive year.
Blue and orange continue onto the outsole, completing a PE that ties Westbrook’s numbers directly into the design.
The “Mr. Triple Double” Air Jordan 3 was made as a sample in 2018 and never received a public release.
It’s the latest rare Westbrook Jordan PE to resurface. We also recently took a closer look at his 2014 Air Jordan 10 “Home” and “Away” PE pack from his OKC days, with the two unreleased pairs switching between predominantly white and black uppers while carrying the Thunder’s blue and orange throughout.
