An Air Jordan 6 "Black Infrared" Retro Is Expected Spring 2026
With much of 2025 yet to pan out, the rumor mill for Jordan Brand's plans for 2026 continue to churn. Most recently, it's been reported that the original Air Jordan 6 'Black Infrared' will return next year.
The rumor has been reported by Romania's Sneaker Market, an outlet that's quickly grown a reputation for revealing Nike, Inc.'s plans well-before the company shares first-looks.
The Air Jordan 6 debuted in 1991 and is often associated with Michael Jordan's first NBA championship. Throughout the years, dozens of colorways have released, updating Tinker Hatfield's design for brand new audiences. The last time the sneaker retrod in an OG 'Black Infrared' finish was in 2019. It's likely that next year's reissue–which will coincide with the model's 35th anniversary–will feature a one-to-one recreation of the model. The upcoming Air Jordan 1 '85 'Bred' has showcased the lengths Jordan Brand is willing to go to ensure that its marquee product does its original Air Jordan run justice. The AJ6 should be no different.
As we wait for official details of the 2026 'Black Infrared' retro, enjoy photos of 2019's pair. The Jordan 6 should retail for $225.
