Air Jordan 9 "Space Jam" Returns Fall 2026
While the Air Jordan 9 may not sit atop the pantheon of Jordan’s most revered models, its legacy within the brand’s folklore is undeniable. The first signature shoe designed for Michael Jordan after his first retirement, the Air Jordan 9 symbolized continuity — keeping the Jumpman alive while MJ pursued a new dream on the baseball diamond. The model also served as his Birmingham Barons cleat and cemented its place in pop culture when it appeared on-screen in Space Jam.
In 2026, the iconic Air Jordan 9 “Space Jam” will return once again — marking the sixth release of this storied colorway. Originally introduced in 1993 and known simply as the “White/Black/Red” OG, the shoe has seen several revivals over the years — 2002, 2008 (as part of the Countdown Pack), 2010, and 2016, the latter aligning with the film’s 20th anniversary. Its upcoming 2026 return fittingly coincides with Space Jam’s 30th anniversary, making this drop as nostalgic as it is timely.

This year’s edition will feature a White, True Red, and Black palette, maintaining the familiar blocking that’s defined the pair since its debut. A white leather base sits atop a black nubuck mudguard that wraps upward to the collar, with red accents highlighting the tongue branding, heel globe emblem, and Jumpman hits beneath the outsole.
While faithful to the original aesthetic, the 2026 version, according to Sneaker Files and zSneakerheadz, will incorporate updated shaping closer to the 1993 silhouette — a move in line with Jordan Brand’s ongoing push for historical accuracy.
The Air Jordan 9 “Space Jam” will release in Fall 2026 via select Jordan Brand retailers and Nike.com for $215.
With its deep ties to Jordan’s legacy both on and off the court, the return of this classic represents more than just a retro — it’s a revival of an era that bridged myth, movie, and memory.
