It appears that the recently-revealed Air Force 1 “Nike and the Mighty Swooshes” won’t be the only manga-inspired release coming out of Beaverton, with this new graphic-soled Air Jordan 1 Low “Anime” appearing today.

Though nowhere near as overt as the aforementioned Air Force 1, this AJ1 Low looks to Japan’s traditional manga stylings for an oversized set of glaring eyes and writings underfoot. Its meaning? Who knows, because its juxtaposed upper isn’t giving much away, either. Perhaps part of a wider Anime collection and based on an original character, the uppers of mixed pink nubucks and high-fluff salmon pink Swooshes don’t show any further explanation to the theme. Rear Wings motifs match the Checks in hue, while subtle lavender stitching at the midsoles is one that can be matched by a spare set of plush laces to complete the design.
