In the world of sneaker design, some themes prove timeless, captivating hoards of sneakerheads across generations and models. Nostalgia through storytelling has been a license to print money in the industry, and no brand has done it better than the Jumpman. From the iconic "Bred" to the "Chicago" to "Concord" and "Cool Grey," Jordan Brand has always found a way to reinterpret nostalgia across countless silhouettes.
The iconic "Space Jam" colorway is another.
Debuting on the Air Jordan 11 in the battle of the Looney Tunes vs. the Monstars in 1996, the colorway subsequently appeared on various models, including the Low IE, Air Jordan 1 Mid, and even a Nike SB Dunk. Today, we revisit — and redesign — something from our own archives with the Air Jordan 4 "Space Jam."
Originally conceptualized by our team in 2019, the Air Jordan 4 "Space Jam" features a rich black patent leather base reminiscent of the deep cosmic void, punctuated by vibrant blue and white accents that echo the interstellar theme that is synonymous with the original "Space Jam" releases, providing a nod to the heritage while maintaining a fresh perspective on the colorway, proving that good design remains relevant, irrespective of the canvas it adorns.
