Concept Lab // Air Jordan 4 “Football Grey”
Each and every year we begin to see a handful of recurring color trends hit releases. For example, Nike’s “Starfish” has a solid run following the success of the Shattered Backboard Air Jordan 1, and just as recently as “Barely Green” and its All-Star appearance has lead to a handful of inline releases repping the hue. Another of those is the mysterious “Football Grey”, a color we first took notice of upon the Air Jordan 1 Low “Paris” back in early 2020. The blue-grey hue has then gone on to hit a handful of Mids, a ladies-exclusive Dunk, and more — it just seems to be in vogue. Well, Why not put it on another Air Jordan? And why not a proper Retro this time? Yeah, why not?
That’s exactly what we’ve tinkered with here on this mock-up colorway just to gauge your thoughts on this hue. Does it hit? Does it miss? We’ve aimed to balance it out with both black and white, but perhaps all it needed was a subtle white balance. Either way, we’d love to know your thoughts, so be sure to tell us on social!
(We may even have a “Football Grey” Air Jordan 1 High on the way, too 👀)
