If you're a sneaker collector amongst family and friends who don't collect, one thing you might've heard is to throw away your shoe boxes. We at House of Heat° understand that there's more value to these things than their cardboard contents suggest and it seems Jordan Brand understands this too in its decision to bring back the Michael Jordan face boxes from the 2000s.
The news, reported by Instagram user @zSneakerHeadz, arrives as the eponymous imprint is winding down its 40th anniversary. Most of the company's Remastered efforts of the last seven years have gone through great lengths to faithfully recreate every detail of select retros from the Air Jordan 1, Air Jordan 4, and Air Jordan 12 franchises, amongst others, and this has included packaging. The return to MJ's face on the top lid of the box will coincide with the 25th anniversary of their launch, as the Air Jordan 16 from 2001 introduced this type of packaging to market.
It's possible components like size tags or tissue paper used to protect the product inside will be slightly-different from the beloved box's original run. Retro product cards may also join the mix, but this hasn't been reported on.
