Jordan Why Not ZER0.3 “Unite” Releases January 16th
Last September, Jordan Brand introduced us all to the “Unite” film series; an effort to highlight basketball’s transgressional and unifying power. Thus far, the series has tapped recording artist Nas, poet Regan Aliyah and Jordan Brand athletes in Kia Nurse, Ray Allen, and Russell Westbrook. To celebrate the movement, Jordan Brandwill be issuing their MVP athlete with a special-edition “Unite” colorway of his Why Not ZER0.3.
Aside from the bold “UNITE” branding on the heel pulls and the “Wold Loves Basketball” tag on the lateral, the pair appears to be your run-of-the-mill release in a Jardan Brand staple Chicago-themed colorway. That being said, there’s nothing typical about any of Westbrook’s releases, with this pair utilizing a different overlay on each panel; fine mesh around the collar, tighter mesh at the mid panel and forefoot, perforated taping on the lateral forefoot, jagged leather at the heel, translucent lockdown straps and suede toe caps. The overly-aggressive midsole allows for some very unique color blocking, while the outsole remains reserved in a subtle off-white. capping off the design are laces, tongues, liners and pulls all arriving in black.
