Michael Jordan’s lesser-known “Black Cat” nickname — given to him for his killer instinct and prowess on the court — has often served as inspiration for his footwear line. From the colorways of the namesake to the fundamental inspiration of the Air Jordan 13, the Jordan Brand series is rife with Black Cat inspiration. It’s next is one of the most audacious yet, as this striking Air Jordan 1 Low “Neon Panther” appears; a kids-exclusive release.

With uppers of striking volt and overlays of jet black, the pair positions itself on the more daring end of the spectrum. Then, a literal approach to the animal inspiration is applied, with clawed-out Swooshes and heel markings, and an accompanying hang tag of a growling black panther. Elsewhere, a black nylon tongue is tipped with volt liners, white laces marry up to the midsoles, and a rubber outsole returns to highlighter hues to complete the design.
