The Jordan Spizike debuted in 2006 during a time in which Air Jordan retros were scarce. Over the last almost 20 years, the silhouette has emerged in handfuls of styles while spawning offshoots. Ahead of fall, a Winterized edition has surfaced in a color scheme reminiscent of a classic Spider-Man look.
Officially clad in a "Ghost/Photo Blue/Blue Chill/Hot Lava" color palette, the newly-surfaced pair is currently exclusive to Big Kids. Adult sizing may eventually appear, but initial photos of the Spizike showcase the offering in youth sizing.
The Winterized edition follows a tradition of Jordan Brand reimagining some of its more rugged silhouettes (think Air Jordan 9, Air Jordan 14) for the coldest, wettest months of the year. Modifications are usually made to the traction underfoot, while lining is replaced with soft fleece or some other insulating compound. The Big Kids' Spizike carries on tradition, with quilted panels up top also donning a rip-stop nylon build. The Spider-Man-esque presentation evokes images of retro Nike ACG and Hike footwear like the Baltoro.
Enjoy official photos of the Spizike Winterized ahead. Pairs should begin to release through Nike.com/Jordan by October for $150.
