Levi's is no stranger to the world of popular sneakers, especially those produced by Nike, Inc. Recently, the storied U.S. institution launched a special Air Jordan 3 collection. Shortly after the capsule's launch, a Jordan Spizike Low appeared in a "Black Denim" makeover that could've formed part of the collection.
Part of Shelton Jackson "Spike" Lee's decades-spanning partnership with the Swoosh conglomerate, the Spizike Low is an update to the director's hybrid design from the mid-2000s. Interestingly enough, the Brooklynite starred in the aforementioned Levi's collaboration, making the appearance of his Spizike in a denim ensemble that much more eyebrow-raising. Nevertheless, the non-collaborative effort sees a "Black/University Red/Gum Medium Brown/Sail" color scheme that offers year-round wear. The jean-reminiscent material across the upper also promises a unique look after consistent use.
Contrast stitching appears throughout different denim panels, creating a retro aesthetic atop the Air Jordan-informed silhouette.

Elsewhere, the Spizike Low sees faint elephant print across the upper's top-half. Tongues and sole units deviate from the dark finish that claim most of the upper, indulging in shades of white, red, and gum brown. The impending "Flight Club" Air Jordan 1 is set to don a similar look.
Lastly, Lee's signature logos appear on the spine of the "Black Denim" pair.
Enjoy official photos of the hybrid design ahead. The shoe should drop via Nike.com/Jordan by May.
