The Air Jordan 3 was first released in 1988 and was the first Air Jordan designed by legend, Tinker Hatfield.
Next year marks the 30th anniversary of the silhouette that saved MJ from leaving Nike for Reebok. Tinker was the man who changed the game for Nike and Jordan Brand with the persuasion of a mid-to low cut that Mike wanted. And that elephant print really got MJ intrigued. The rest was history.
The introduction of Spike Lee’s Mars Blackman into the Air Jordan 3 advertising also boosted the shoe’s profile incredibly – it is still regarded as the greatest sneaker marketing initiative of all-time.

Then there was his performance at the 1988 All-Star weekend. The debut of the White Cement during his infamous Slam Dunk Contest winning free-throw line dunk, and his 40-point MVP performance in the main game, rocking the Black Cement colorway.

The 30th Anniversary of the Air Jordan 3 will be kicked off with the highly anticipated return of the Black Cement 3 in February (we’re hoping for the White Cement to return, too)

In March we will see two new Air Jordan 3 Retro SE colorways releasing in Anthracite and Navy options respectively.
These are all the details we have so far, but expect the three to have a solid run next year, and everyone please pray for the return of the WC3!
