OG Post 08.28.21 // Rumors of a secondary Trophy Room x Air Jordan 1 for 2021 have been debunked, but we will be receiving another Trophy Room x Air Jordan collab in the new year. Despite the initial teaser imagery of an Air Jordan 1 shared by Marcus Jordan himself (below), sources suggest that we’ll instead be getting a Trophy Room x Air Jordan 7 for Holiday 2022.

The accusations surrounding the release of his “Freeze-Out” Air Jordan 1 from February would have been enough for the strongest-willed to find respite from the relentless sneaker community, but Marcus has made it fairly clear that he pays no attention to the noise (it must run in the family.) With the relocation of the store to its new home at 50 S. Rosalind Avenue, Orlando, nearing completion, one would suggest that Marcus has something big planned.

His recent IG post all but confirms this, with Jordan posing out front of the new premises, windows covered in cryptic contact reading “Family Reunion” “Holiday ’21” and an image of eight Trophy Room collaborations fanned in a circular setting. The thing is, though, they’ve only had seven of them. The uppermost pair — clearly an Air Jordan 1 silhouette — is blanked out with a question mark motif. It’s this misleading image that sparked rumors of a follow-up Air Jordan 1 between the two parties, but that now seems to be quashed. The pair in question is tipped to be linked back to his father’s Olympic win in Barcelona with Team USA, and will likely be the pair that kicks things off the silhouette’s 30th-anniversary celebration in 2022.

Update 09.15.22 Over a year from its first announcement, first and official looks at the Trophy Room x Air Jordan 7 have arrived ahead of an expected release this Holiday season. The design itself is a tribute to Michael Jordan’s Olympic gold in Barcelona on the sneaker he wore as part of the famed Dream Team. With a red suede upper, creamy leather overlays, and accents of navy and gold fluttered throughout — along with a five-color ribbon pull and a literal gold medal motif at the heel —, you can see its link to the 1992 Olympics. Inner tongues and boxing mark key memories of the games, including Mike’s murmuring to Larry Bird during scrimmage that there’s a “New Sheriff in Town,” as well as markings of Monte Carlo, where the Dream Team would practice ahead of the games. The pair is then capped off with 3D gold Jumpman motifs at the ankle, Mike’s John Hancock on the lateral heel wall, and special-edition boxing

Update 11.02.22 Trophy Room has confirmed that their Air Jordan 7 “New Sheriff in Town” will release this Saturday, November 5th, at 10 AM ET via the Trophy Room website. The retailers are also concurrently running an in-store raffle. The shoes will also release alongside matching apparel. A wider Nike.com and retail rollout will take place on November 9.
