The stepping down of NIGO from A BATHING APE was merely the dawn of an exciting new era. The streetwear titan didn't just establish another winning brand, Human Made, but also collaborated with renowned brands such as Louis Vuitton and is soon set to reunite with Nike. With such a storied career, it's hard to define his most significant achievement, but his role as Creative Director of KENZO would arguably be at the top of many lists.
The appointment also carries a special significance, marking him as the first Japanese designer to fill the role since Kenzo Takada's exit in 1999.
Now, after two years and three collections, KENZO is delighted to present its first sneaker crafted under NIGO's innovative leadership. Named the KENZO-Dome, the design reflects NIGO's fondness for nostalgic classics, drawing profound influences from the '90s skate scene and iconic footwear of that time. The model's name even pays tribute to "The Dome," a famous skate park located within the Palais de Tokyo in Paris.
Offered in an array of shades for both genders, the KENZO-Dome is immediately available on KENZO.com as well as at the brand’s physical stores, with a price tag of $350 USD.
