The man with a storied journey, Saleh Bembury has been surprising people since his days at Payless, working his way up to Cole Haan, to YEEZY, to Versace, and finally, out on his own. Initial collections with New Balance resulted in Bembury taking out the title of Sneaker Designer of the Year in 2020, leading to a slew of new opportunities for the New York native, from Crocs, Brandblack, and Anta. Now he will make a triumphant return to the luxury footwear space, with the independent designer teasing a brand-new footwear collaboration with high fashion house Moncler.
Having previously worked with Clarks, Converse, and ASICS — alongside Fragment Design and KITH — Moncler has always had its ears to the ground when it comes to collaborations. Now, Salehe will bring his outdoor-inspired aesthetic to the French-founded Italian Luxury house, with drab olive leathers, shaggy orange suedes, and muted pink canvas all coming up on a hiking-boot-like design.
