Action Bronson’s New Balance 1890 "Baklava" Releases by Spring 2026
The resurgence of New Balance’s tech-runner era continues into 2026, and Action Bronson is once again at the center of it. Fresh off a headline-grabbing run with his New Balance 992, the Queens native has now unveiled his next project: the Action Bronson x New Balance 1890. Early images shared by Bronson confirm that the silhouette will make its modern comeback under his Baklava umbrella, setting the stage for a major rollout next year.
The 1890 itself is an unmistakable product of NB’s mid-2000s design language—aggressive lines, layered uppers, and performance-first engineering. Bronson’s version leans into that identity while dialing up the eccentric palette he’s become known for. Rounded thermoplastic overlays stretch across an open-knit mesh base, while a full-length ABZORB platform with squared cushioning pods delivers the chunky, propulsive feel the era was famous for. A triangular heel counter at the rear adds structure, contrast, and the kind of visual punch Bronson rarely avoids.
Color-wise, the collaboration follows the familiar Baklava script: a clash of cool blues, mint-green branding, neon accents, and warm orange hits at the eyelets and heel. Despite the bold touches, the foundation leans surprisingly neutral, with off-white tones and deep grey panels anchoring the arrangement. A second style unveiled in early January 2026 takes on a more neutral look, although hits of eye-catching oranger and yellow make an appearance. Thick boot-style laces and “BAKLAVA New Balance” tongue tags finish both options—details that fans of Bronson’s 990v6 pairs will immediately recognize.
These reveals also shed light on the wider future of the 1890. General-release colorways have begun circulating online for months, including a high-contrast yellow/black pairing and a navy-and-yellow option with speckled midsoles—both expected to arrive in Spring 2026. With Bronson leading the charge, the 1890 appears poised to become New Balance’s next big entry into the revived tech-runner space.
Expect more information on release timing in the months ahead as the Baklava rollout continues.
