Casablanca to Release Third New Balance XC-72 in Cream
Just as they did with the 327 silhouette, New Balance called upon Casablanca to collaborate on the debut release of their all-new XC-72 sneaker. It was a fitting move, considering that both the 327 and XC-72 were designed by NB’s own Charlotte Lee. The silhouette’s shared DNA is evident, too, with retro runners at the forefront of design, with modern tweaks to the sole unit that are reminiscent of vintage moto racing footwear. Now, after their debut capsule has carried forth a slew of popular general releases, the brand is back with a third colorway — this one in a simple sail and white scheme.
Pairing a perforated white leather upper with overlays entirely of cream, the pair is fairly minimal from the get-go. Sole units follow the lead of the upper, as does the tongue, laces, and liners. The only hint of color comes at the branding, with classic Casablance orange and green seen at the tongue, heel, and insole to complete the design.
