Although New Balance is constantly in the pursuit of innovation (check out the 2000 ABZORB), the North American brand has ensured it's always revisiting its expansive archive.

Ahead of spring, the Massachusetts-based institution has taken a particular liking to the New Balance 1500, a performance-running model from 1989. The silhouette–produced in England–is Salehe Bembury's next collaboration, but it's also emerged in a number of inline styles. The latest brings a clean 'Vintage Navy' look to the forefront. Breathable mesh bases and their premium pig suede overlays indulge in muted shades of the dark blue tone. Leather panels throughout the upper deviate in a light grey that's reminiscent of other classic New Balance sneakers.

Underfoot, the innovative cushioning solution opts for an off-white finish that gives the Made in England-1500 a faux-aged look. An ENCAP unit and crash landing pad reprise their roles 36-years after their debuts. Tried-and-proven traction completes the package in a faint grey hue that allows for the sneaker's top-half to steal the spotlight.

A firm NewBalance.com release date hasn't been confirmed by the brand as of yet, but that's likely to change soon. In the meantime, enjoy official photos of the 'Vintage Navy' NB 1500 below. The pair is priced at $230.
