Yesterday’s impossible-to-cop restock of the New Balance 2002R “Protection Pack” all but confirmed that the silhouettes are as strong as it’s ever been in the eye of the sneakerhead. For those in the know, though, the model has been doing the rounds at retailers for a minute — including exclusive releases.

This JD Sports-only offering is one of those that has caught out attention, with its monochrome suede, leather, and mesh construction providing a fitting colorway for the ultra-versatile sneaker. Here, it’s charcoal mesh uppers working with overlays of very black leather and suede engulfing the release. There are metallic silver rears, bright white midfoot motifs, and a black and grey sole unit, too, to complete the design.
