Although it's focused on the 19th anniversary of its 992 silhouette, New Balance is constantly thinking about how it can modernize its heritage to produce refreshing designs. Ahead of Spring 2025, the North American company has developed the 2010, a sneaker that blends archival elements with new-age technology.

Worn by Fabolous and Jadakiss in the music video for Kith Records' "New York to the World" single, the New Balance 2010 could easily be mistaken for something within the 990-series. Its mix of breathable mesh and high-quality suede is laid out similar to the aforementioned New Balance 992, which Joe Freshgoods has revisited with his 'Aged Well' collaboration. The new model's setup, however, skews ever-so-slightly more technical given its porous build at the spine and tip of the toe.

Elsewhere, N branding on the profiles opts for a textured finish similar to performance-runners from the late-2000s and early 2010s. Underfoot, the Massachusetts-based institution hasn't unveiled its midsole and outsole solution, but a first-glance provided by Modern Notoriety by way of X user @vicodrocker suggests the sneaker combines a new ABZORB formula with New Balance's premier FuelCell foam. A wave-reminiscent shank at the mid-foot further updates the heritage-inspired design while also providing stability.

Enjoy another look at the brown-colored NB 2010 ahead. While it's uncertain whether or not this style will be the first pair to launch, it's likely to form part of the 2010's catalog by the end of the year. Firm NewBalance.com release details should begin to surface by April.
