Whether planned or not, New Balance seems to be a little excited about the return of the legendary Nike Dunk Low “Argon” this month, as the brand has just revealed a similar scheme on its resurgent 550 model.

A first look at the New Balance 550 “Argon” shows the colorway’s famous mix of two-tone blue and white, though here, it’s delivered in significantly shifted proportions to Nike’s classic Dunk Low. Here, the Boston-based brand stays true to its heritage roots, with a clean white leather upper in both smooth and perforated finishes. The collar, midfoot N motifs, and supporting accents arrive in shades of sea-blue and muted teal, with a hit of aged-look sail at the heel. All of this then comes together on a heritage-inspired sole of white and grey, complete forefoot tooling of deep blue.
