Like most retro model resurgences, the New Balance 550 enjoyed a big-name collaboration to kick things off before fully-fledged flooding of the market. That link-up was with Aimé Leon Dore last year, which then followed by an onslaught of GR drops. Since then, it was all quiet on the 550 front — until last month’s second round of releases with ALD. And, right on cue, here comes the GRs — three, in fact.
Once again, the pairs arrive anchored into its retro roots, with smooth and perforated white leathers present as the majority, before bold strikes of black, burgundy, and gold respectively glow up the silhouette. Capping off the design is a neutral suede toe cap, retro tongue branding, and colorful insole sets.
