New Balance 991v2 "Slate Black" Takes On a Seasonal Makeover

New Balance recently unveiled two silhouettes rooted in modern aesthetics, while pushing the innovative RCVRY series with the help of Joe Freshgoods, but the heritage brand continues to build out its legacy franchises. To this front, the 991v2 expands the company's Made in U.K. efforts.

Developed as a sequel to the beloved New Balance 991 from 2001, the silhouette features a familiar aesthetic across its premium build. Breathable mesh bases come together with pig suede overlays to create a running-informed layout that's overtaken the lifestyle space over the last handful of years. Underfoot, the New Balance 991v2 updates its predecessor's cushioning solution, opting for the Boston-based institution's performance-driven FuelCell foam. The result is a comfortable ride that doesn't sacrifice style, especially in the pair's all-new "Slate Black/Alloy" ensemble.

Enjoy official photos of the pair ahead. Stockists across Europe have already begun selling the latest NB 991v2, but a stateside NewBalance.com has not taken place yet. Whenever that happens, expect to pay $250 for the brown sneaker.
