New Balance Show Some National Pride with USA-Themed 992 Sneaker
It would only seem right that the New Balance 992 would also offer a celebratory 4th of July release — after all, everyone else is, too. And with the way things have played out for the reincarnation of 2006’s mythical silhouette, it’s fitting. The sneaker exploded into the market by-way-of a Kith-exclusive, a Joe Freshgoods All-Star collaboration, and a militaristic effort from WTAPS, and with at least 15 more GR colorways to come, it’s going to be one hell of a year for the silhouette. This New balance 992 “USA” is a little different than your average or typical, with subtle changes in upper (fine mesh in the rear and standard mesh upfront) and chenille-laden N.motifs. It’s blocking is unique too, with whites reserved for the tongue and rear, blue from toe-to-tail, and reds predominately at the forefoot. Of course, it wouldn’t be New Balance without a hint of grey, seen here on the liners and rear underlay, and the pair is capped off with classic black rubber outsoles.
