A Second Made in USA “Patchwork” New Balance Appears!
Another New Balance Banger.
New Balance has been coming in hot this Summer, with out-of-the-ordinary releases for the traditionally greyscale brand. 2019 has seen the boys and girls from the Boston brand switch things up in a major way, and it’s shaken up their market appeal, through modernized retoolings, vibrant palates and bold prints. This next up “Patchwork” Made in USA 997 is a testament to the latter, joining the recently-revealed accompanying 998 by ushering in a mismatched-like finish.
Construction and materials are still paramount for New Balance, with this particular pair still heavily focused on buttery suedes and fine fabrics, the latter appearing here in multiple patterns and hues, from a near-Native American like print at the collar, to a patriotic Star-spangled selection at the tongue. Unlike the accompanying 998, the 997 foregoes the toe box print paneling for all-out black suede, which also covers the toe cap and heel panels. Rouch nude suede arrive at the vamp, covering up a buttery teal leather, while a vibrant pop of magenta that wraps the ankles completes the upper. Underfoot you’ll find an aged-look ENCAP midsole and black rubber outsole.
Both Made in the USA and constructed with ultra-premium materials has ensured that this Patchwork New Balance 997 deploys a premium price point of $220 USD — but that won’t stop the NB heads from scooping up a pair at select retailers like 43einhalb. A release date has not yet been announced, but you can peep the detailed images below!
