This Made in America Patchwork New Balance 998 Presents Multiple Paisley and Suede Panels
Another New Balance Banger.
New Balance has been coming in hot this Summer, with out-of-the-ordinary releases for the traditionally greyscale brand. 2019 has seen the boys and girls from the Boston brand switch things up in a major way, and it’s shaken up their market appeal, through modernized retoolings, vibrant palates and bold prints. This next up “Patchwork” Made in USA 996 is a testament to the latter, ushering in a mismatched-like finish to their revered silhouette.
Construction and materials are still paramount for New Balance, with this particular pair still heavily focused on buttery suedes and fine fabrics, the latter appearing here in multiple patterns and hues, from a tropical leaf pattern at the toe and below the profile “N” motif, to two types of paisley at the collar and tongue respectively. Rich suedes come into play, with each layer tackling a different hue; ashy green at the toe, moss green at the mid, rich mocha at the heel and dusty oranges and the Achilles. Further additions of grey and yellow nubuck appear throughout, and the pair is completed with the brand’s ABZORB midsole in two-tone, and black rubber outsoles.
Both Made in the USA and constructed with ultra-premium materials has ensured that this Patchwork New Balance 998 deploys a premium price point of $220 USD — but that won’t stop the NB heads from scooping up a pair at select retailers like 43einhalb. A release date has not yet been announced, but you can peep the detailed images below!
