The New Balance ABZORB 2000 Appears in Classic "Grey" Look
Officially previewed in early April during Milan Design Week, the New Balance ABZORB 2000 is finally set to debut to the public on June 14. Before its launch, however, the futuristic silhouette has already appeared in other compelling styles.
As has been the case with so many of the Boston-based brand's marquee designs, the ABZORB-cushioned model has surfaced in a heritage-inspired "Grey" look. Inspired by the 990 series' original look from 1982, the mostly-tonal, understated presentation has gone on to inspire Grey Days, a celebration of the namesake color. The hue's presence on the NB 2000 is relegated to more synthetic panels than premium pig suede, but the silhouette's busy layout harkens back to New Balance's running catalog.
Underfoot, visible tech is the name of the game as midsole cushioning takes notes from the NB 9060 with its exaggerated proportions. The full-length combination of ABZORB cushioning and ABZORB SBS pods come together to deliver one of the institution's most eye-catching proposals to date. The aforementioned pods deviate from their grey-and-white counterparts in favor of a rich blue that livens up the modern design.
