New Balance might be best known for its variety of chunky, extra-comfortable footwear, but the North American institution has a long history of experimenting with silhouette.
In 1982, the Boston-based stalwart launched the Gator Run, a low-profile sneaker that blended expertise on the track field with eccentric style. The result was an easy-to-wear design that featured unexpected textures and colors, as well as a toothy sole unit that nodded to the design's "Gator" nomenclature.
Before January ends, the New Balance Gator Run will return in all its glory. If the success of the miu miu NB 530, NB 204L, and RC56 is indicative of anything, it's that consumers are hungry for as many thin-soled, low-profile footwear styles as they can get their feet into. The Gator Run's glossy patent leather uppers, croc-reminiscent textures, and tonal color executions keep things exciting, allowing bold dressers to get experimental with their ensembles.
Enjoy detailed shots of the inaugural NB Gator Run retro capsule ahead. Pairs are scheduled to launch via NewBalance.com on Wednesday, Jan. 21. The sneaker is priced at $130.
Away from the world of lifestyle footwear, the adidas Adizero Evo SL ATR, a water-repellent running shoe, is ready for winter training sessions.
