New Balance officially unveiled Kawhi Leonard’s debut signature sneaker mere minutes before the Klaw stepped onto the All-Star hardwood in Chicago earlier this year — a game in which Leonard put on a clinic and clinched the inaugural Kobe Bryant All-Star MVP award. Since then — like basketball itself — its been radio silcene from the brand, who look to keep things under wraps until its scheduled debut this Fall. But not even the Klaw is immune to sneaker-leaks, with a fresh new colorway of the New Balance KAWHI surfacing online earlier today.
This pair arrives in a Clippers-friendly palate of black, blue, and white, complete with metallic gold hardware, perhaps in ode to his recent streak of rings and trophies. The fingerprint-like mid panel and tongue detail arrives here in royal blue — as does the geometric heel clip, with textured mesh uppers, croc skin collars, and suede tongue tips all arriving in black. A fully-translucent outsole wraps a clean white midsole, and the pair is capped of with a bold protruding NB motif in the rear, Kawhi’s new K2 logo on the tongue, and PE #2 detail on the forefoot.
