The New Balance 1906U Returns in A Faux-Aged Trifecta for Spring 2025
The New Balance 1906U continues to deliver refreshing styles from the Boston-based brand.
Effectively the Utility-inspired edition of the retro runner, the NB 1906U offers a more techy aesthetic than some of its already-technical counterparts. The Aimé Leon Dore-approved New Balance 860v2 lends its sole unit to the model, which has recently surfaced in slightly-yellowed finishes for a faux-aged look. The mesh base layer harkens back to the silhouette's performance origins, while the synthetic overlays across the forefoot and profiles provide structural support and a trendy aesthetic.
The latest trifecta of New Balance's utility-informed design keeps things relatively drab in terms of color palette, although one impending style features hits of red and green. While not as Easter-appropriate as the New Balance 1906R 'Pastels' collection initially teased by its designer, the three shoes offer compelling choices for the springtime.
Firm NewBalance.com launch details haven't been disclosed by the brand yet, but the NB 1906U trio should arrive quietly before June. Each pair should retail for $160.
