The New Balance Warped Runner "Snakeskin" Serves as an Early Lunar New Year Celebration
As we edge closer to 2025, the year of the Snake, New Balance is getting a jump start on the Lunar New Year celebrations with an early release that channels the serpentine theme. The New Balance WRPD Runner “Snakeskin” cleverly incorporates the iconic snakeskin pattern to reflect both innovation and tradition, perfect for ringing in a new cycle of the Chinese zodiac.
This model doesn’t utilize snakeskin leather but impresses with a snakeskin graphic printed onto suede. This choice is both an ethical nod and a stylistic twist, allowing for a more profound, vibrant print presentation. The pattern primarily adorns the overlays, blending beautifully into the same material in gray at the heel. This transition from mineral to midnight hues is mirrored in the color scheme of the shoe—steely gray on the New Balance "N" branding and a solid black grounding the look underfoot. Completing the design, the runner features typical cream mesh underneath paired with an aged midsole, enhancing the shoe's vintage appeal while keeping it modern and wearable.
Scheduled for release on NewBalance.com this fall, the New Balance WRPD Runner “Snakeskin” will be available via New Balance channels for $150
