The resurgence of New Balance has been no accident. With a carefully curated list of collaborators, the Boston-based brand has propelled itself into back-to-back years of incredible success. It’s also used this program to debut new silhouettes like the 327 and the 57/40 — the latter linking up with the likes of Bricks & Wood and Staud earlier this year. Now it’s time for one of the biggest names in UK streetwear to shoot their shot on the silhouette, with the size? x New Balance 57/40 next to step up to the plate.

Serving as a homage to New Balance’s greyscale back catalog, the pair also draws inspiration from seasonal outerwear. While the former is fairly evident in its use of grey and complimentary, tonal hues, its other motivation is less obvious. The shoe’s premium construction, which largely pairs hairy suede and meshes with leather, along with the intricate material composition and unique blocking all serve the narrative while providing enough oomph for anyone thinking that the pair is a little drap.

Revealed and originally planned to release back in June, the pair and its accompanying apparel collection never quite made the deadline. There is, however, whispers of a release in November — so stay tuned for further updates.
